Welcome to My Mind

Hi!

This blog, My Guide to Hip Hypocrisy, is to serve as a place for me to articulate my thoughts about the world and share them with whoever wants to care about the things I want to care about.

I went with the "clever" title because why not.

I believe that all people, myself included, are fundamentally hypocrits.

This isn't a bad thing, it's a reality because sometimes what we intend to be in the world isn't who we are - whether it's because we lack the willingness or ability to follow through on our aspirations.

I think hypocrisy is bad only when we recognize that we are hypocrits and pretend that we are not.

We should not be afraid to call ourselves out or others, on our hypocrisy. It's the only way to help drive debate and discussions forward.

The topics of this blog will be varied based on whatever has crawled under my skin but will likely include things about:

- Family
- Politics
- Science
- Art
- The Human Condition

I am a believer in the quote attributed to Einstein:

Everything Should Be Made as Simple as Possible, But Not Simpler

This will be the goal of my approach with this blog because I think there's only so much detail and context you can remove from something before the discussion collapses.

I will also do my best to include as many third party resources for arguments for or against my points to create context.

Since I am a busy father and business owner, I won't write as often as I want but I'll write as often as I can because I'm committed to sharing my ideas.

If nothing else (and if no one else reads this), it will serve the purpose of helping me prevent becoming mentally "backed up" with all of the thoughts I have on current topics.

Just remember a few things:

- Comments are invited but this is MY sandbox. I will delete them, shut them off, or block you if things go from discussion to degeneration.

- No one gets to comment anonymously - sorry! Anonymity in debate is a recipe for lack of civility.

Thank you!
